Tundra Tales Inc. is an innovative, creative and new talented multimedia company, located in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada. The principals of the company have a seventy year history in the Television and multimedia industry. We provide expert services in, and consultation on, all aspects of multimedia production. We have a proven reputation in providing research and storyboarding, pre-production, digital video production, digital editing, all aspects of post-production services, photography, translation, audio engineering and graphic design.

Leading the company is President, David Poisey, a veteran in Film and Television in Nunavut. David is an Award-winning Director and renowned cinematographer in Nunavut. Winning Best Narrative Director and Best Documentary, “Starting Fire with Gunpowder”. His work in Nunavut started when the first Tv was brought to the North where he was living and began his career in film making in 1972 with the Nunatsiakmiut Film Society. David’s fathers passion with his 8mm camera matured David's attention as a child which led him to be an impressive and essential part of Nunavut's growth in the visual arts.

Alongside David, Mark Aspland serves as Vice President. Mark moved to Nunavut in 2013 to pursue a career in multimedia, and over the past 7 years, he has successfully completed nearly 400 projects through his company, Aksut Media. This impressive track record highlights Mark's expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality, professional results.

Mark takes great pride in the success of the projects he has led, many of which have exceeded client expectations. His work has had a broad impact, reaching millions through video views, photo and graphic production, and support for public service announcements (PSAs) across Nunavut's schools and communities. In addition, Mark has contributed to the preservation of the region's history and culture by digitizing thousands of photographs.

Mark’s achievements include helping to create Nunavut children's television programs, earning a Juno nomination, and completing an award-winning short film. Mark has also worked with prominent organizations like National Geographic, the BBC, various Canadian federal and territorial governments, private, nonprofit and charitable companies. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous directors, producers, and cinematographers, improving his skills across diverse projects. Mark has contributed to the production of several APTN TV shows, including Anaana's Tent, Tundra Friends, and the upcoming series Tuktu. Mark is also passionate about mentorship and community development, having developed video production workshops that provide on-the-job training for interested Nunavummiut youth and adults. These workshops offer valuable hands-on experience alongside professionals from Aksut Media, helping to foster local talent and build industry connections.

David and Mark first crossed paths during training workshops hosted by the Nunavut Film Development Corporation, where they helped organize, facilitate, and teach participants of all ages—from youth to elders—about the importance of digital preservation and storytelling through multimedia tools. They quickly discovered that their shared passion for video production would complement each other, sparking creative ideas and allowing them to move toward a more imaginative space where their visions could come to life.
